Learn to run in combination with massage therapy with Kim Johnston. Kim will provide a one on one custom program for individuals who would like to try running. The program would include massage therapy sessions, rehabilitative exercises (strength training and stretches as needed), and a custom training program. This is a gentle approach, starting with walk/runs and gradually increasing the amount of running. The massage therapy sessions will address any concerns that you have related to running, or other injuries/issues as needed. Stretching and strengthening will be given as home care and will help to prevent injuries as you start running. If you have run in the past and were injured, then therapy will be very important to prevent that same injury from returning.
Kim has been a runner for most of her life and has a real passion for running, especially on trails. She has completed many races of different lengths, both on the road and in the mountains.
Whether your goal is to train for a race, lose weight, or improve your energy, Kim will help you reach your goals and if you stick with it, you will be rewarded! Running is an amazing form of exercise and requires very little cost or equipment. Just a pair of running shoes will do!
Consult your doctor if you have any serious health concerns.
The learn to run and massage therapy program will run for 8 weeks. There will be 8 weekly appointments (ideally), including massage, stretching, and strength training. I will join you for a walk/run after 2 or 3 of the sessions. The rest of your run and your home exercises will be done on your own, and I will support you and answer questions by email. These sessions are mostly one hour ($90) and an extra $100 flat fee for the coaching support and training program which will be emailed after the 1st or 2nd session and then updated and tweaked throughout the 8 weeks. Pay each massage therapy session as you go and they can be charged as normal massage therapy to your extended health provider. The coaching and training program is provided by Kim Johnston, Learn To Run Coach and cannot be billed as Massage Therapy to your extended health provider.
Please phone or email Kim if you are interested in a run/massage program.
