For anyone interested in learning more about Cardiovascular Health and Yoga I have found an interesting new Study.
While the article did not share specific poses practiced or style of yoga, it still brings up the interesting question….. Is yoga as beneficial for cardiovascular health as regular aerobic exercise? I have found from my personal home practice that even when tired, burnt out, maybe recovering from cold or flu. Even a gentle yoga practice maintains my cardiovascular health and when I return back to my hikes, swimming my endurance is maintained. Reflecting on my introduction to yoga now 10 years ago, I remember going for a run some 5 months into my practice after not running for years due to a back injury and recalling the surprising ease and comfort in my breathing and body during the activity.
